Ministry of Social Development – Canterbury – Residential Worker (Casual) Te Puna Wai Residence – Christchurch Residential Workers at our residence are here to help young people make positive change at what is often a critical point in their lives. It is not an ‘easy’ job by any stretch but we do get to see results first hand – and that reward is pretty hard to beat. Because our roles are the result of some pretty innovative legislation, we operate residential services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week providing programmes for children and young people aged from 13 to 17 years to get back on track to living just like other people their age. We need to ensure that our residence is fully staffed at all times and therefore need to draw from our casual pool. We are currently looking for casuals to cover the following shifts: Day Casuals – covering shifts from 6:30am – 3:00pm / 1:30pm – 10:00pm Night Casuals – covering shift from 10:00pm – 6:30am What happens in a typical youth worker day (or night)?
